We're just over a year away from the 10 year anniversary of my city's own Escaped Capybara Saga. Reading the titles of the 'related links' at the end of the article in reverse order makes for a nice short story.
Brian Grubb! Thank you. Thank you for your awesomeness, how your writing and observations consistently make me laugh. And gosh knows we all need to laugh more these days, right? I’m a middle aged, middle class grandma living in the south; all the stereotypes anyone can conjure from that basic description are 1000% accurate, I’m about as garden variety as they come, and you, sir, crack me up. Thank you!
My favorite Law & Order stock character is the Manhattan Bartender Who Somehow Remembers That One Customer The Detectives Just Asked About, even though the bartender served at least 1000 people on that night and 5000 more in the nights since.
You are so welcome and you deserve all the very best life has to offer, if you’re not already enjoying that. Y’know what else? Literally 50% of the stuff of which you write—as in, the actual shows/movies/actors, etc—I have never seen and know nothing about (again, I’m a granny, etc.). But your writing is so bat-shit awesome and fun that I read and laugh anyway, and you’ve inspired me to check stuff out more than a few times. Finally, the amazing stuff you wrote for Vulture about Slow Horses is how I became your biggest granny-aged fan and puh-leeeeeze promise me you’ll be Slow Horsing it again? ;-)
